Who is a Good Candidate for IPL?

A good candidate for IPL Therapy in Salt Lake City, Utah, is someone who wants to improve the appearance of skin discoloration, sun damage, age spots, or fine lines and wrinkles.

How Does IPL Work?

The IPL device emits pulses of light that penetrate the skin’s second layer, heating the underlying tissue without damaging the epidermis. The heat generated by the light energy breaks down unwanted pigmentation, collagen fibers, and blood vessels, triggering the body’s natural healing response to remove these damaged cells. This process promotes the growth of new, healthy skin cells and stimulates collagen production, resulting in smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin.

The Modern Experience:

At our clinic, we use the Harmony XL Pro Machine by Alma, one of the most advanced and customizable devices available, to provide our patients with the most effective and personalized IPL treatments. On the day of your treatment, your provider will clean your skin and apply a clear ultrasound gel to help transfer the energy into your skin. They will then use a handheld device to deliver precise pulses of light energy to the targeted areas of your skin. The treatment typically takes 45-60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.

After your IPL treatment, your provider will give you specific instructions on how to care for your skin in the days and weeks following the procedure. This may include using a gentle cleanser, avoiding sun exposure, and wearing sunscreen. You may experience some redness, swelling, and mild discomfort, but these symptoms typically subside within a few days!

If you’re ready to enhance your skin and achieve a more youthful, radiant complexion, contact us today to learn more about our IPL services!
