On the day of your treatment, your provider will clean your skin and apply a clear ultrasound gel to help transfer the energy into your skin. The treatment typically takes 45-60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.

After your IPL treatment, your provider will give you specific instructions on how to care for your skin in the days and weeks following the procedure. This may include using a gentle cleanser, avoiding sun exposure, and wearing sunscreen. You may experience some redness, swelling, and mild discomfort, but these symptoms typically subside within a few days!

Post Care Instructions

Before you head out the door after your treatment you will have protective skincare applied by your Aesthetician.

After your IPL session, you will notice changes in your skin. Do not be alarmed as mild side effects are perfectly normal. These changes indicate that the treatment is working properly.

The most common issues that clients experience are: blisters, bruising, crusting, brown spots, redness, swelling, sunspots, and blemishes.

These symptoms create no reason for concern. Even when a procedure is non-invasive there is a healing process that takes place, with side effects lasting only a few days

Restrictions

Don’t take hot showers, hot baths, or bask in a hot tub for a minimum of 48 hours
Don’t exfoliate your skin within the first 7 days as it may cause irritation
Don’t pick any crusting or blisters
Don’t exercise or participate in any strenuous physical activity. Wait at least two days to do so
Don’t expose your skin to the sun unprotected- always wear an spf 30+ and a wide brimmed hat if you are spending time outdoors- we do not recommend spending time outdoors while receiving IPL treatments, that is why we recommend doing your treatments during fall/winter
