Microneedling Services With SkinPen in Salt Lake City, UT

What is microneedling?

Microneedling initiates the skin’s wound healing process. It can stimulate your body’s own ability to produce collagen and elastin to reveal smoother skin.

Who is a good candidate?

Microneedling or Micropenning with the SkinPen is perfect for anyone ready to improve their skin’s texture. Whether you have scars, large pores, fine lines, or are wanting to prevent premature aging, microneedling is perfect for you!

How can you prepare for your microneedling session?

Discontinue using any active exfoliants for 5-7 days before coming in for your treatment. This includes but is not limited to retinol, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and benzoyl peroxide. The risk of having an adverse reaction to the microneedling may increase if you use these products too closely to receiving the treatment. Let your aesthetician know if you are taking any antibiotics or prescription medications. These may also increase your skin’s sensitivity. Avoid direct sunlight and be sure your skin is not sunburnt when you come in for your treatment.

The Modern Experience:

Your licensed aesthetician will begin by applying a generous layer of prescription strength numbing cream, which will sit on your skin for about 30 minutes. That will then be removed and a thorough cleanse will be performed. After disinfecting with alcohol, an FDA cleared product will be applied topically and used as a “gliding” product for the SkinPen microneedling device. Once a clinical end point is achieved, your aesthetician will clean your skin up and send you on your way! The entire process takes about 90 minutes, including the 30 minutes of numbing time.

RF Microneedling with the Morpheus8

What is radio frequency microneedling?

Radio Frequency Microneedling treatment is the latest and greatest in the world of medical aesthetics. The Morpheus8 laser provides the top-of-the-line results you desire. By targeting various layers of your skin, this laser can rewrite your skin’s history. This powerful, yet minimally invasive laser treatment effectively reorganizes the foundation of your skin rejuvenating it from the inside out.

How does it work?

Morpheus8 works by penetrating the skin 2-3mm (on the face) and up to 7mm (on the body) deep with tiny insulated pins which emit a radio frequency energy at the desired depth, initiating the body’s natural healing response which in turns stimulates the body to produce collagen. This tightens the skin at a deeper level and as the laser is brought more superficial it also reduces fine lines and wrinkles.

Who is a good candidate?

Think of radio frequency microneedling as a boot camp for your skin. If your goals are to lift and tighten any area, this treatment is for you. We can work on any area of the body, including the face and neck. The results can take time to see, but are well worth it. This would be a good treatment for anyone with extremely deep acne scars or scars of any type anywhere on the body. If you are at least 6 months post-op from a major procedure that left you with an unwanted scar, this is the treatment for you. It is also the most beneficial treatment for clients wanting to tighten and firm their skin.

How can you prepare for your Morpheus8 treatment?

Discontinue using any active exfoliants for 5-7 days before coming in for your treatment. This includes but is not limited to retinol, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and benzoyl peroxide. The risk of having an adverse reaction may increase if you use these products too closely to receiving microneedling. Let your aesthetician know if you are taking any antibiotics or prescription medications. These may also increase your skin’s sensitivity. Avoid direct sunlight and be sure your skin is not sunburnt when you come in for your treatment. Ideally you will want to discontinue using any medications that could thin your blood and increase your chances of bruising (NSAIDs, aspirin, ibuprofen etc). Caffeine and alcohol also fall under the same category and can cause blood-thinning which can lead to more bruising. Avoid them if you can for 1-2 weeks before your appointment.

The Modern Experience

When you arrive, we begin by applying prescription-strength numbing cream on the treatment area and allow it to set for 30 minutes. Once the area is numb, we cleanse and disinfect the skin. Your comfort level is of the utmost importance to our aestheticians, and they will proceed at your pace. It is also important to discuss your priorities as this can help optimize your treatment. The handpiece is then used to treat the skin. Multiple passes are generally used for optimal benefit. Depending on the thickness of your skin, the depth and energy will vary. We also have nitrous oxide (laughing gas) on site and for a small additional cost, it can be used during your treatment if necessary. Most patients choose a series of 3 treatments spaced 6 weeks apart for best results. The entire treatment takes about 75 to 90 minutes, including the 30 minutes of numbing.

Treatment Approximate Cost
Regular Microneedling – Including Face & Neck $350/ per treatment or a series of 3 for $899
RF Microneedling – Including Face & Neck $1000/ per treatment or a series of 3 for $2,500
